CAPI — short for Conversions API — is the umbrella term for server-side endpoints offered by ad platforms (Meta CAPI, TikTok Events API, LinkedIn CAPI, Google Ads server-side). Required since iOS 14.5 / ITP / ad-blockers killed reliable client-side ad-platform tracking. Most privacy-first analytics tools don’t replace CAPI — you run CAPI separately, from your backend, with deduplication via event_id.
